(Opening Paragraph)
This my supposed friends is... The Nerd! That's right it is the website for The Nerd within us all, and believe me there is one. Some would request that I use the term "geek", as they see "nerd" as being offensive, whereas "geek" to them is of a more commendable, er... um, gender if you will. But I rested upon "nerd" in the end mainly because of its easier linguistic lilt, and with that I will stand. I rest my case.
What Is A Nerd?
Many of the inhabitants of the known world, probably including yourself, think of nerds as those that enjoy the things that others dislike, and in some cases hate. Now these are not things like annoying people, bad breath, or being urinated upon, they are things more akin to school, math, or computers. They also are considered widely those who enjoy to an obsessive level such things as fantasy, video games, or pocket protecters (Coming soon, an in depth delve into why there originated the idea that nerds have and enjoy, pocket protecters, when I, a self proclaimed nerd, don't have one, and have never seen anyone nerdish who does! Don't miss it!).
Also, most people see nerds as having glasses, combed hair, a collar shirt tucked in, dress shoes, clothes plaid, a pocket protecter, and more. I don't believe this to be true. Nerds are too obsessive to have their hair combed! Real nerds never comb their hair unless they have time! And the clothes are too uncomfortable for any serious video gaming!
OK to end this, I will say that in the poll section of this site there is, (or will be if you are here extremely soon after the site's publication) a poll question asking wether you think a nerd would be dressy or not.
